Build the city of your imagination at the Paper Cities Craft Program at the Davenport Library! Join us at 3:00pm on Monday June 5th at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) and create mini city scenes using paper, scissors, glue and recycled materials. All supplies will be provided – all you need to bring is your creativity!

Calling all Percy Jackson fans! The Davenport Library will host a Rick Riordan Book Club for Teens beginning at 4pm on Friday June 2nd at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue). Read and discuss the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series while enjoying trivia, snacks and prizes! Both super fans and new readers are welcome to join us as we dig deep into all five books in the original series in addition to discussing other series and read-alikes.

Davenport Public Library Offers “Stories in the Park” at Vander Veer Botanical Park

Beginning Tuesday June 6th, the Davenport Library will be offering “Stories in the Park” at the Vander Veer Botanical Park (215 W Central Park). The story times will be held every Tuesday at 11am (except for July 4th) through July. Join us near the pond (in case of rain we’ll meet in the conservatory). Bring some snacks, a blanket and sit back and take a break with your favorite summertime stories!

Enjoy classic films this summer when the Davenport Library hosts Afternoon Classic Films. The films will be shown at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) at 2pm on the third Wednesday of the month.  The lineup of films is:

You’re invited to join the Davenport Library and Element Tea for a tea tasting. Enjoy and learn about a wide variety of teas from around the world. This special event will be held at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) on Wednesday, May 17 at 6:30pm.

Book Discussions at the Davenport Public Library

Join us at the Davenport Public Library to discuss modern classics that have recently reappeared on the best seller lists. These thought-provoking novels are as relevant today as when they were when they first appeared. Discussion times and locations are:

1984 by George Orwell on Thursday May 11 at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) at 6:30pm.

Join us at the Davenport Public Library each month to discuss a variety of short stories while enjoying some tasty treats at the Short and Sweets Discussion Group. The meetings will be held on the second Monday of every month at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) at 10am. Participants will receive a complimentary copy of each month’s story. Registration is required.
