Jason Morin, Army Sustainment Command Historian at the Rock Island Arsenal will present the third installment in the World War I lecture series, “The Rock Island Arsenal during World War I.” The lecture will take place at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) on Wednesday, January 10 at 2:00pm.

Enjoy your favorite classic board game, or try a new one at Tabletop Games for Kids! The games begin at 3:30pm on Friday, January 5 at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue). A second session will be held on Friday February 2. Games include Clue, Life, King of Tokyo, Scrabble, Forbidden Island and many others. Come for some good old-fashioned fun!

Help your child gain confidence reading with the Read to a Dog program at the Davenport Library!

Looking for a New Year’s resolution that is both fun and doable? How about reading more books?  Join one of our book clubs at the Davenport Library where you’ll meet new people, read great books and have fun discussing them. We have something for everyone!

Join us on Mondays in January and February for Crafternoon where kids get a chance to be creative and have fun. Crafts include a pinecone hedgehog, crayon watercolor painting, pop art self-portraits, button art, a paper birdcage and mixed media newspaper art. Meet us at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount) on Mondays at 4:00pm for an hour of crafty fun!

Join us for one of our traditional storytimes, now at a new time! We’ll be at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) on Tuesday, January 9 at 3:30pm. This month’s theme is “Kittens and Mittens”. We’ll have stories, songs and activities for all ages for a fun and cozy program!

Does midnight come a little too late for you? Join us at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount) on Saturday, December 30 at 11:00am for an early New Year’s Eve celebration for the whole family! We’ll have crafts, snacks and a countdown to a balloon drop at noon!

Join us for a Lord of the Rings movie marathon at the Davenport Library! Journey to Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) for the epic adventure. Show us your best Gollum impression and we’ll give you free popcorn!
