Thanks to a generous estate donation, the Friends of the Davenport Public Library are able to offer a large, unique collection of books for sale. This special event will take place on Friday, November 17 from noon to 5pm and Saturday, November 18 from 9am to noon and will be held at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue).

Jerry Schroeder, Program Specialist with the Alzheimer’s Association will present “The Basics of Alzheimer’s and Dementia: an Optimistic View” at Eastern on Wednesday, November 15 at 6:00pm. The program will provide an overview of Alzheimer’s disease, how it compares to normal aging, and other forms of dementia. He will discuss the warning signs, explain what to do if you see them and will share his optimism about the hope of effective treatments on the horizon.

Ghost Crier Paranormal Investigations (https://www.ghostcrier.com) will be at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) on Wednesday, October 25 at 6:00pm showing tools of the trade and sharing video evidence and playback EVP (electronic voice phenomena) from local ghost investigations.

Join local yoga teacher and yoga therapist Rebecca Sebastian as she talks about all things yoga at Main (321 Main Street) on Thursday October 5 at noon. Do you have to be flexible? Do you need special equipment? Are you sure yoga is right for you? All these questions and lots more will be answered. There will be discussion, some demonstrations and some very simple movements.
