Come test your skills against other kids on the Library’s Minecraft Server! Join us at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount) on Saturday, January 20 at 10:00am. Contestants will be given a theme and judged on their execution and creativity. Winners will take home a small prize.

Registration is required so sign up early! Beginners are invited to compete, but will not receive instruction outside of a basic commands handout.

Explore a variety of arts and crafts at the Davenport Library with our Homeschool Arts program. We’ll work with a variety of materials and techniques that are sure to spark your imagination and fuel your creativity! These programs are designed for kids in 3rd through 5th grade and will be held at the Main Library (321 Main Street) at 1:00pm on the following days:

Come join as at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) on Tuesday, January 23 at noon when local Holistic Health Practitioners, Lori Sullivan and Jenna Crookshanks, speak about how toxins affect our health, why it’s important to eliminate them and what steps are necessary to create a holistic lifestyle. Start the new year with a healthy new outlook!

“The Importance of Sleep” Program at the Davenport Library

It’s just sleep – what’s all the fuss? Join us at Eastern (6000 Eastern Avenue) on Wednesday, January 17 at 6:30pm when The REM Center from Moline will talk about what happens during sleep, the disorders affecting your eight hours and the keys to a good night’s sleep.

Join us for a fun craft everyone will enjoy! The whole family is invited to come and paint rocks with us at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) on Tuesday, January 16 at 6:00pm. Paint fun designs or inspiring messages to share.

We’ll supply the rocks and paint, you bring the creativity!

If you say yes to any of these, check out the 2018 Online Reading Challenge at the Davenport Library! There are no membership fees, no meetings to attend and you’re free to choose your own titles!

Come get creative! Join us at Eastern every Wednesday beginning on January 3 at 2:30pm. We’ll have plenty of craft supplies and a special project each week including sun catchers, salt paintings, snow globes, birdfeeders, mason jar banks and paper crafts. Beat the winter blues with some crafty fun!

Test your engineering creativity with Strawbees at the Davenport Library. This STEM program invites kids to engineer and create with Strawbees, simple units that let you connect straws to build mechanical objects. Join us at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) on Thursday January 11 at 4:00pm and find out what you’re capable of building!
