As many great journalists reported last year, Iowa’s child care crisis has reached a critical mass and has become a topic that resonates deeply with audiences across the state — it’s also an issue that IWF has vowed to tackle.

The traditional depiction of Lady Justice is a woman wearing a blindfold to demonstrate impartiality. In her right hand she wields a sword (symbolizing swift punishment for the guilty). Her left arm holds aloft a scale to weigh the opposing sides' cases — publicly, for all to see.

Over time, American judges have become increasingly inclined to demand that the public itself wear the blindfold, and that the opposing parties wear gags.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 12, 2019) —The Red Cross of the Quad Cities is assisting a Davenport family after their home was damaged by fire Monday evening. Davenport Fire District Chief Joe Smith says crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 4100 block of Santa Fe Trail shortly before 4:30PM Monday. The first company to arrive on scene reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the mobile home.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 12, 2019) — One $1,000 scholarship will be given annually by the Ina Duncan Banks Memorial Scholarship Fund to a female college or university student. The scholarship award will be paid directly to the recipient's college or university.
