MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 12, 2019) — One $1,000 scholarship will be given annually by the Ina Duncan Banks Memorial Scholarship Fund to a female college or university student. The scholarship award will be paid directly to the recipient's college or university.
Requirements: Applicants should apply online at www.molinefoundation.org. All scholarships must be submitted by midnight on Friday, March 15, 2019. All reference letters need to be mailed to The Moline Foundation, 1601 River Drive, Suite 210, Moline, Illinois 61265, with a postmark on or before March 15, 2019. Only completed applications will be considered.
Scholarship candidates must:
- be a female, undergraduate student who wishes to continue her education to pursue challenging and diverse career opportunities.
- have successfully completed at least two years of their undergraduate work, and should be entering their junior or senior year of college.
- be residents of Rock Island County, Illinois, who are attending or plan to attend a four year college or university.
- show high academic achievement, community service involvement, and, to some extent, financial need.
- be full-time students enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester.
- submit an essay (200 words or less) on "What is your chosen career field?" or "What challenges you about attending college?”
- submit two letters of reference and a transcript.
