(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg kicked off the ninth annual Yankee Doodle Drive Against Hunger today by announcing this year’s goal of 50,000 meals for hungry children and families. Representatives of the Des Moines Symphony, the Food Bank of Iowa, Bank of the West, Casey’s General Stores, Hy-Vee, Inc., the Polk County Board of Supervisors and KCCI joined the governor and lieutenant governor for the official launch at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.

Trip marks the first time all of Iowa’s farm groups have come together for a trade mission

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds today announced that she will lead an all Iowa agriculture trade mission to China July 19-28. Traveling with her will be representatives from commodity groups and the Farm Bureau, emphasizing Iowa’s corn, pork, soy, beef, egg, poultry, dairy and turkey industries.

(DES MOINES) – Today, Gov. Kim Reynolds took the oath of office to become Iowa’s 43rd governor. She officially became governor of Iowa at 10:06 a.m.  Below are her first remarks to Iowans as governor, as prepared for delivery.

(DES MOINES) – Today, Gov. Terry E. Branstad took action on 10 bills. The action taken represents the conclusion of bill action resulting from the 2017 legislative session.  The action comes before the deadline of May 22, 2017.  Gov. Branstad signed Senate File 516 last, marking this the last bill action likely taken as governor of Iowa. 

(DES MOINES) – Today, Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds announced two appointments to the Iowa Board of Medicine.  These appointments are effective today, are unpaid and are subject to Iowa Senate confirmation.

Ms. Teresa Garman of Ames, IA previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1987 to 2002, where she served as Chairwoman of the Justice Appropriations Committee.  She replaces Diane Clarke of Lake Mills, IA.
