(BETTENDORF) – Gov. Kim Reynolds and Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner broke ground Monday afternoon launching a three-and-a-half year construction project to build a new Interstate 74 Mississippi River Bridge. The project will improve safety and travel through the I-74 corridor.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Wednesday that she will appoint Jerry Foxhoven, a well-known and highly respected leader in child protection and family law, to serve as director of the Iowa Department of Human Services. Foxhoven will begin his new position Thursday.

(DES MOINES) – An Iowan is one of 12 people selected by NASA as a candidate for the 2017 class of American astronauts. Raja Chari hails from Cedar Falls and was chosen from 18,300 applicants. Today, Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg congratulated Chari on his outstanding achievement.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg kicked off the ninth annual Yankee Doodle Drive Against Hunger today by announcing this year’s goal of 50,000 meals for hungry children and families. Representatives of the Des Moines Symphony, the Food Bank of Iowa, Bank of the West, Casey’s General Stores, Hy-Vee, Inc., the Polk County Board of Supervisors and KCCI joined the governor and lieutenant governor for the official launch at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.
