ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 21, 2023) — Eight Augustana College geology majors presented earth science concepts on October 11 at Moline Public Library's Fossil Day Program.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 20, 2023) — More than 35 Augustana College students worked on the production of the area premiere of Nine, November 16-19, directed by Shelley Cooper, associate professor of theatre arts. Nine is presented at the Brunner Theatre Center Main Stage.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 17, 2023) — The John Deere Planetarium at Augustana College will present its annual holiday program, "Season of Light," on December 9-15. The planetarium show will be offered weekdays, 7PM, and 2PM Saturday and Sunday.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 17, 2023) — More than forty Augustana College students will serve on the college's Student Government Association (SGA) for the 2023-2024 academic year.

SGA representatives have been elected to serve as the liaison between the student body and the faculty, staff, and administration of the college. SGA's mission is to voice the needs and opinions of the student body in an effort to grow Augustana's academic, cultural, and social life.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 7, 2023) — Jonathan Enslin has been selected to serve as Augustana College’s vice president for college advancement. Enslin, who now serves as vice president for college advancement at St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wis., will join the college January 1.

Facing a midlife crisis, film director Guido Contini dreads his next birthday, which finds him at a creative crossroads. The play is based on the musical by Maury Yeston and book by Arthur Kopit.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (October 25, 2023) — Nineteen Augustana College students recently completed SCUBA certification, with many planning to put their new skills to work during a Janaury Geology course in the Caribbean, diving in the topical waters and reefs of Bonaire.

Susan Wolf, Augustana's educational programs coordinator, said students trained for weeks and challenged themselves in completing the SCUBA training.

Seniors Grace Vranicar, a biology major, and Rachel Galluzzo, a kinesiology and psychology double major, center, facilitate a focus group at Lindberg Center during Symposium Day. Students from the Health Behavior and Promotion class led seven focus groups to hear what changes students want to see on campus

Augustana was one of only nine private Illinois colleges to make the list, which ranks the most-selective universities according to Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges and other metrics.
