ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 16, 2024) — Kaleidoscope, Augustana College Art Department’s children’s-art program, will soon be moving to the Figge Art Museum. The Art Department has offered children’s-art classes for nearly 100 years, including 42 years under the title Kaleidoscope.

Kaleidoscope at the Figge will begin March 8. Registration information will be available in the near future at figgeartmuseum.org.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 8, 2024) — The National Science Foundation (NSF) has once again awarded Augustana College a research-and-development grant to help prepare future math and science educators for their teaching careers. The latest grant awards $1.2 million through 2029.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 6, 2024) — Twenty-eight students joined the second cohort of the Brenda Barnes Leadership Academy. The BBLA is a program geared toward providing mentorship and leadership development for high-achieving, first-year female students.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 4, 2024) — Augustana College senior Lazlow Ziebel, a geography and environmental studies major from McCullom Lake, was named a student laureate by The Lincoln Academy of Illinois. He was honored at an October 26 ceremony held at the University of Illinois Springfield.
