ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 7, 2024) Augustana College and Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences announce a direct-entry nursing program that will allow students to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) after completing two years at Augustana and two years at Trinity College.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 5, 2024) — Fifty Augustana College students will perform in the Augustana Symphonic Band's Midwest tour.

This year's tour features five performances in Illinois, Iowa and Kansas from March 22 to April 6. Conducted by Dr James Lambrecht, the wind ensemble will share music in churches, performing arts centers and high schools across the Midwest.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 27, 2024) — Augustana College will host the 2024 Ellwood F Curtis Family Lecture in Public Affairs Monday, March 4, 7PM. American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Senior Staff Attorney Emerson Sykes will present the lecture “Freedom of expression and freedom of inquiry in polarized time” at 7PM in Wallenberg Hall at the Denkmann Memorial Building, 3520 7th Ave, Rock Island.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 22, 2024) — Director of Athletics Mike Zapolski announced Jordan Delp as the eighteenth head coach of Augustana men’s basketball at a press conference Wednesday afternoon at the Carver Center.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 20, 2024) — Augustana College’s Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Dr Michael Zemek, will perform three Illinois concerts during an April tour.

Jenny Lind is a select treble ensemble for students who wish to develop advanced choral skills and better understand various styles of choral music composed for sopranos and altos. The choir performs on campus and at community events.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 14, 2024) — The Augustana OperX program will perform “Amahl and the Night Visitors” at 7PM, Saturday, February 17, on the Brunner Theatre Main Stage. Dr Patrick McNally (below), assistant professor of music and director of opera, will direct the performance.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 13, 2024) — Augustana College announced more than 1,100 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2023-2024 fall semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 12, 2024) — The Augustana Choir, under the direction of Dr Jon Hurty, will perform concerts in California March 21-25, followed by a home concert on April 6 in Davenport.

The 54-voice ensemble, known for its innovative programming, attention to detail, and musical excellence, will perform at five Southern California churches. The tour will include collaborations with choirs directed by Augustana alumni Brent Wilson and Jens Hurty, Dr Hurty’s son.
