WEST BRANCH, IOWA—Herbert Hoover National Historic Site is hosting a speaker series February 24th, March 3rd and March 17th, all at 2:00 p.m. in the visitor center. A variety of topics will be covered, offering audience members a chance to learn new and fascinating things.   All presentations are free and open to the public. 

WEST BRANCH, IOWA— Herbert Hoover National Historic Site presents a special exhibit, Cuba - Photographs from the Streets of Havana & Vinales.  One of the United States closest neighbors, Cuba has been the subject of controversy and curiosity for decades.  This exhibit will be available for viewing Saturday, January 6th through Wednesday, February 28th, 2018.

West Branch, Iowa— The National Park Service is looking for volunteers on Saturday, September 30,  to help gather seeds from native plants in the prairie at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. West Branch, Iowa— Erin Anfinson will be the 2017 Artist-in-Residence at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. The Artist-in-Residence Program promotes creative means of communicating the park's national significance and its relevance to park visitors. Anfinson will be in residence during June and the early part of July. She will lead a free public presentation on Saturday, June 24 at 2 p.m. in the Visitor Center.

Report shows visitor spending supports 145 jobs in local economy

West Branch, Iowa— A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 152,383 visitors to Herbert Hoover National Historic Site in 2016 spent $8,909,700 in communities near the park. That spending supported 145 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $11,407,100.

West Branch, Iowa— Third through eighth grade classes of the area are invited to attend free performances of Bright Star Touring Theatre’s USA to Z. Performances will be held March 20-March 24, 2017, 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily, at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum. Due to limited seating, teachers must make reservations for their class, and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
