West Branch, Iowa— The National Park Service is looking for volunteers on Saturday, September 30,  to help gather seeds from native plants in the prairie at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. Report shows visitor spending supports 145 jobs in local economy

West Branch, Iowa— A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 152,383 visitors to Herbert Hoover National Historic Site in 2016 spent $8,909,700 in communities near the park. That spending supported 145 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $11,407,100.

West Branch, Iowa— Third through eighth grade classes of the area are invited to attend free performances of Bright Star Touring Theatre’s USA to Z. Performances will be held March 20-March 24, 2017, 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily, at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum. Due to limited seating, teachers must make reservations for their class, and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
