Churches United of the Quad City Area is very thankful to the TJX Foundation for a $1,500.00 grant, in support of its Shelter Program in the Quad City Area. This generous support is critical in keeping Winnie’s Place in operation, in order to shelter women (with or without children) who are homeless and/or victims of domestic violence. In addition to shelter, Winnie’s Place offers counseling, advocacy, and training, so that these women can look forward to a more successful life for themselves and their children. In 2016, Winnie’s Place freely served 245 women and children.
Churches United has a 56-year history of reaching out to our community. Its 136 member churches represent 50,000 people from the Quad City Area. As well as Winnie’s Place, Churches United also operates 26 free food pantries and 3 hot meal sites.
