Over the next decade, we will be working to create millions of jobs in new and growing industries. Unfortunately, the gap between the skills needed for these jobs and the skills of today’s workforce could leave many of these new positions unfilled. That means hardworking Iowans may lose access to good paying jobs, through no fault of their own.

Tragically, every day in America, 20 veterans take their own lives. Many of our nation’s veterans face post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other serious mental health issues upon their return home, and these veterans have sacrificed too much to ever feel alone when in a crisis. When these veterans reach out, we as a country owe it to them to answer their call.

As the 115th Congress begins, there are many tough issues that we must tackle. In order to best serve Iowa’s Second District, I want to hear from you. As we approach the end of the year, we are also closing out the 114th Congress.  While there is a mountain of work that must still be addressed, I have been busy working across the aisle to overcome the Washington gridlock and advance legislation to benefit the people of Iowa.  A summary of some of those achievements are below.
