City Circle Acting Company of Coralville will present Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street! February 12-14 at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. Performances are February 12 and 13 at 7:30 pm and February 14 at 2:00 pm.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler, Sweeney Todd tells the tale of an infamous London barber who takes out his thirst for revenge on the newly shaven throats of his customers, while his conspirator, the pie shop proprietress Mrs. Lovett, disposes of the bodies in a unique and savory way.

This special concert version of Sondheim’s darkest but most delicious musical features a cast of 43 singers and 20 musicians.  Directed by Mark Baer and with music direction by Carl Rowles, this concert production features the full script and score with minimal scenery and props. This show contains adult sexual situations and violence.

Tickets to the show are $12-$27 and can be purchased online at http://www.coralvillearts.org or by calling 319.248.9370. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the CCPA box office at 1301 5th Street and at the Coralville Recreation Center at 1506 8th Street.
