DES MOINES, IOWA (April 9, 2025) — The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) recently announced that Hills Bank and Trust Company in Kalona has been named the Top Beginning Farmer Lending Institution of 2024 and Daniel Kuboushek, lender at Citizens Savings Bank in Spillville, has been named Beginning Farmer Loan Officer of the Year. The awards recognize the lending institution and loan officer who assisted the most individuals through the Beginning Farmer Loan Program in 2024.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 9, 2025) — The Scott County Democrats have awarded two Kirschbaum-Fitzsimmons scholarships worth $1000 each to Grace Ludwig from Pleasant Valley High School and Devan Riberdy from North High School.

Grace Ludwig of Bettendorf, Iowa, plans to attend New York University and major in marketing and journalism.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (April 9, 2025) — “Broadway on Broadway” is returning to campus on April 12, as the Monmouth College Chorale hosts one of its annual fundraising events.

"Each year, Chorale holds a ‘Broadway on Broadway’ concert, where solos, duets and ensembles from Broadway shows are performed in Dahl Chapel," said Chorale director Tim Pahel.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 9, 2025) — In January, Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird co-led a nineteen-state coalition in a letter to Costco, calling for the company to follow its own motto and “do the right thing” by ditching DEI after the company, instead, claimed that it would double down.
