The Clinton Area Showboat Theatre (CAST) will be holding a fundraiser at the Clinton Hy-Vee Market Grille from 4:00pm-10:00pm on Friday, April 21st. The Market Grille will donate 25 % of their sales during this time to CAST, with all bar tips being donated to the organization as well. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Showboat’s 2017 professional Summer productions, educational Intern Program, and summer camps for children.

CAST board members will be on hand as guest bartenders and will also be available to provide information about the upcoming season.

Local favorite Travis Hosette will be performing the songs of Frank Sinatra from 5:30pm - 8:30pm. The Market Grille will also have food and beer specials. There is not a cover charge, and the Market Grille is a great place for the entire family to experience live music. The 2017 season, “Hooray For Hollywood” starts off June 8-18 with a smash hit fresh from Broadway, Disney’s Newsies The Musical! which earned eight Tony nominations, winning best choreography and best original score . The second show is the Alfred Hitchcock classic, Dial M For Murder. This thriller had a successful Broadway run and will be on the Showboat stage from June 22 - July 1. The third show of the season will be the iconic 80’s musical, Footloose. With four Tony nominations along with hit songs like “Footloose”, “Let’s Hear It for the Boy”, and “Holding Out for a Hero”, this musical became an instant classic. Footloose will run from July 6 – July 23 and will be followed by the last musical of the season, The Bridges of Madison County. Jason Robert Brown’s musical was nominated for 4 Tony Awards, winning best original score and orchestrations. This hometown musical is set in Iowa, and will run from July 27 – August 6. The 2017 season will come to a close with a thrilling comedy. The 39 Steps was originally a serious spy film by Alfred Hitchcock, but the stage adaptation is a screwball comedy comprised of four actors playing over 100 different characters. The 39 Steps will run from August 10-19. Theatre for Young Audiences will showcase the CAST intern company. Madagascar, Jr. , a musical adventure, will be performed at 11am on July 8, 15 and 22. Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat runs July 29, August 2 and 5, also at 11am.
