MOLINE, ILLINOIS (June 13, 2024) — The Black Box Theatre will be holding auditions for the US premiere of The Truth, described as a “brilliantly cruel comedy of the hypocrices [sic] which hold society together.”

Written by Florian Zeller and translated by Christopher Hampton, the production will be presented August 16-31.

Black Box co-founder Lora Adams saw the play in London and thought it would be perfect for The Black Box Theatre Stage, and after years of negotiating, she was awarded the license to produce and stage the play at the downtown Moline Theatre.

The Production will be directed by Bradley James Jensen with Intimacy Coordinator Jacqueline Isaacson.

He is looking or four strong performers for the roles of Michel (male, forties to fifties), Alice (female, forties to fifty), Laurence (female, forties to fifties), and Paul (male, forties to fifties). Actors must be able to do a subtle British accent and be comfortable with intimate staging.

Auditions will take place on June 22, 11AM-1PM. Actors will read from the script. Rehearsals will begin July 15. A complete schedule will be available at the audition.

The Black Box Theatre is located at 1623 5th Avenue, Moline, Illinois.
