MVGA Farmers' Market News

May 30, 2009:  At the Farmers' Market on Saturday, May 30, the therapy dogs will be on hand to thrill and entertain you. You may learn more about where they go, where they have been and how you can contact the organizer. The Market opens at 8am in the NorthPark Mall parking lot between Sears and JCPenney every Saturday and Wednesday. The Market remains open until Noon. The Market offers locally grown annuals, perennials, herbs and fresh produce. You will find meats, eggs, jams, honey, fresh baked goods, arts & crafts, jewelry and a variety of hand-made items for your home. It is a great way to begin your weekend and stock your refrigerator with healthy, locally grown fresh foods.

MVGA Winter Market opens at NorthPark Mall.

On Saturdays during November and December, the Mississippi Valley Growers' Association will have an indoor Farmer's market at NorthPark Mall. Joining together with the Independent Artists' Market/Fine American Crafters, the two will be located in teh old Walgreen's location, between Dillard's and Talbot's. The Farmer's Market section will be open from 8am until 12 Noon; the Artists' Market area will be open from 8am until 2pm.

Good, ol' fashioned homemade Ice Cream Social

Come join us for a good, ol' fashioned ice cream social featuring homemade goodies and treats on Friday, July 11th from 4pm 'til 8pm at the LeClaire Masonic Temple on Hwy 67 in LeClaire, Iowa. Sloppy joes, hot dogs, side dishes and beverages also available. Proceeds help the Silver Creek Eastern Star Chapter with their annual "Star Gifts for Kids' Christmas presents project.

Freight House Farmers' Market

On Wednesday, June 25th, the Freight House Farmers' Market will be in the Central High School south parking lot (overlooking the downtown).

On Saturday, June 28th, the Farmers' Market will return to 4th & Gaines (Scott County Administrative Center parking lot) - straight up from the Centennial Bridge.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Luncheon

The St. Margaret's Guild will host a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Luncheon on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Trinity Church, 19th St & 6th Ave in Rock Island.  The luncheon will run from 11am until 1:30pm.  Tickets are just $4 for adults, $2 for children and are available at the door.
