Waste Commission of Scott County facilities will be closed on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day. Normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, May 31. Waste Commission of Scott County facilities include the following:
• Scott Area Landfill, 11555 110th Avenue, Davenport
• Scott Area Household Hazardous Material Facilities, Davenport
• Electronic Demanufacturing Facility, 1048 East 59th Street, Davenport
The Scott Area Recycling Center, 5640 Carey Ave., Davenport, remains closed for construction, which will allow for upgraded recycling operations. The facility is expected to re-open in summer 2016. While the facility is closed, the recycling drop-off bins on-site continue to be available to residents. In addition, residents with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) or full medical sharps containers may drop them off at the adjacent Electronic Demanufacturing Facility, where they also may pick up new containers for sharps.
