Dubuque, Iowa (June 5, 2014) - On Saturday, May 17, the University of Dubuque held its 162nd Commencement Ceremonies at 1:00 p.m. in the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center on the University of Dubuque Campus. Degrees were conferred upon 469, undergraduate, graduate, and seminary students.

Among the graduates are Sydney Kelling receiving a bachelor of science and honored as magna cum laude and Bejamin LaGrange receiving a bachelor of arts, both from Bettendorf; and Paul Beard and Rachael Tilkens both from Davenport and both receiving a bachelor of science degree.

Professor Robert Reid, head of the communication department and director of the Master of Arts in Communication (MAC) degree program, delivered the Commencement Address, titled "Go Be Invulnerable".

The University of Dubuque, founded in 1852, is a private, coeducational, professional University with a focus in the liberal arts.
