Architecture of Downtown Davenport Tour

Curious about the historic buildings in downtown Davenport? Join the Figge Art Museum on Saturday, May 10th at 1:30 pm for an hour-long walking tour that features buildings like J.H.C. Petersen's Sons Store (1892) and the Putnam Building (1910). The tour will explore the style and meaning of these buildings in context with Davenport's historic period of economic development. The tour will conclude at the Figge Art Museum with a discussion of the meaning of David Chipperfield's design for the Quad Cities community. Please wear comfortable shoes. VW Car Show

Attention All Bug Enthusiasts! Not entomologists, but Volkswagen lovers! The German American Heritage Center and the Bi-State Volkswagen Club will be holding a VW Car Show on Saturday, May 10th from 10am-2pm in the GAHC parking lot in Davenport. See unique, vintage, and restored Beetles, Microbuses, and kit cars! Brat stand on site! Don't miss this free event! www.gahc.org

Then on Sunday treat your mom to a day at the German American Heritage Center!  It's free admission for moms and grandmas & a special treat for you both! Must accompany one paid admission or GAHC member.

Beaux Arts Fair

Discover the treasures at the free Beaux Arts Fair as artists come from across the country to set up shop on the Figge Art Museum Plaza, 225 West 2nd Street in downtown Davenport, Iowa.  The Beaux Arts Fair is Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, May 11 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. www.beauxartsfair.com

Admission to the fair is free and the Figge is offering $2 admission to the museum all weekend long. This year, Beaux Arts Fair and Mother's Day share a weekend, so to celebrate the museum is offering FREE admission to all moms on Sunday for Mother's Day. Family Health and Wellness Fair

The Family Museum in Bettendorf is excited to be partnering with local organizations to provide our guests with the latest information about healthy family living. Venus Envy Quad Cities, a festival and art exhibit celebrating women in the arts, will be held Saturday, May 10th from 6 to 10 p.m. both inside and outside Bucktown Center for the Arts (225 E. 2nd St.) in downtown Davenport.
