DAVENPORT, Iowa, March 2, 2016 – MCCQC invites the public to attend the Annual Chili Cook-off and Cookie Contest held at the Fargo Lounge located at 4204 Avenue of the Cities, Moline. For just $10, guests will be treated to tables filled with crock pots of the best chili on either side of the Mississippi…so many choices, that it will be impossible not to find at least one favorite. A team of local celebrity judges including Hy-Vee Manager Greg Baker, Director of Davenport Civil Right Commission Latrice Lacey, and Isle Casino Head Pastry Chef Melissa Brand Nordenson will determine 1st and 2nd place awards and the winners will receive $100 and $25, respectively, with ribbons for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and People’s Choice. There is no additional cost to enter your chili and all interested parties should plan to arrive with chili in pots no later than 5:00 pm. Judging will be begin promptly at 5:15. The doors will be open at 4:30 pm.

If sweet treats are your specialty, plan to enter your favorite homemade cookies. We will accept all types of cookies and ribbons will be awarded for the judges’ favorites.

Special guests, The Moline Boys Choir, will perform for your musical pleasure. You will not want to miss the performance of this amazing group of young men under the direction of Karl Bodenbender. Join us as we celebrate their musical talent and dedication to performance art.

To round out the fun, Toto the Clown will entertain with balloon creations and there will be silent and live auction items including a one-of-kind quilt created by Clayton Peterson. Raffle items include a variety of baskets filled with all sorts of Quad City goodies and gift certificates.
