DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Quad Cities River Bandits extended their season-long losing streak to nine games with a 6-3 loss to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Sunday afternoon at Modern Woodmen Park. The loss pushed Quad Cities’ elimination number from playoff contention to two games. Dexture McCall drove home two runs in a three-hit day for Quad Cities while finishing a home run shy of the cycle. Kristian Trompiz added two base knocks for the Bandits.

The Timber Rattlers (33-30, 67-66) took an early lead with a two-run first. Trent Clark and Troy Stokes led off the game with walks. Lucas Erceg brought home Clark with a single and Monte Harrison followed with a single to plate Stokes, giving Wisconsin a 2-0 edge.

Quad Cities (27-36, 58-74) responded in the bottom of the first. Trompiz snapped a 0-for-25 skid with a single and Stephen Wrenn worked a walk to set up a two-run double from McCall, tying the game 2-2.

Wisconsin reclaimed the lead in the second inning. Max McDowell knocked a double and Luis Aviles followed with a double of his own to score McDowell, pushing the Timber Rattlers on top 3-2.

The Timber Rattlers added insurance in the sixth and seventh innings. Harrison singled and moved to scoring position on a fielding error in the sixth. Later in the frame a wild pitch allowed Harrison to score. In the seventh, Stokes singled and Isan Diaz cranked his league-leading 20th homer of the year to give Wisconsin a 6-2 advantage.

McCall led off the bottom of the eighth with his second triple of the season. A two-out single from Hector Roa scored McCall and cut the deficit to three runs, 6-3.

Tyler Britton (0-1) dropped the decision in his Midwest League debut for Quad Cities. The 2016 23rd-round pick allowed three runs on four hits and four walks over three innings. Carlos Sierra struck out a career-high seven batters in four innings of relief for the River Bandits.
