September 23rd – Central Dewitt Performing Arts Center Presents Vocaldente, A Cappella Art – Vocaldente is an engaging and fun-spirited a cappella group from Germany marks a special stop during their brief American tour. Contact by September 30th - Habitat for Humanity will hold their annual Mr/Ms Habitat fundraiser on Saturday, October 15th 5:30 p.m. at St. Ambrose University Rogalski Center. Chamber member, Kathy Anderson, invites you to get involved. You can help by donating items for a LeClaire Basket for the silent auction, sponsoring a table or attending the event. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for a table of eight persons. Laughter generously donated by Guys in Ties & Comedy Sportz, who will emcee the event. All proceeds will help future homeowners gain strength, stability and self-reliance through their purchase of an affordable home. October 9th – Apple Fest – LeClaire Lion’s Club LeClaire Levee 11a.m.-4p.m. Fun, family event that features apples, apple cider and a variety of homemade food items including pie, strudel, scones, and cupcakes. There will be a truckload of pumpkins and gourds. Other vendors include kettle corn and a wide variety of unique craft and gift items. The LeClaire Lions Club will be selling Chili, Brats, Hot Dogs, Chili Dogs, and Pork Chop Sandwiches. The QC Antique Car Club will be displaying their cars, and there will be a “Kids Only” area for a small fee. October 12th - Meeting with Deb Flanders and James Engle, the Director of the Iowa Downtown Resource Center at the Iowa Economic Development Authority. 8:30am at the Medic EMS community room at 107 N. Cody Road, LeClaire. They are making an effort to provide more outreach to downtowns across the state and are scheduling brief (30-45 minute) visits statewide. They would like to tell us about the services of the Iowa Downtown Resource Center and will ask some questions. They are looking for statewide trends that will help them provide training on the right subject matters. October 15th – Masonic Lodge Soup Supper 4 to 7 p.m.  Serving at the Masonic Center, 113S.Cody Rd. LeClaire. Sponsored by the Order of the Eastern Star & Masonic Lodge of Le Claire. FREE WILL DONATION will go to support the various charities & community projects we support.  Serving homemade chicken noodle soup, corn bread, desserts and beverages. The public is welcome.

October 29th – Witches’ Walk Free Family Fun on the Levee in LeClaire, Iowa! Registration for the Witches’ Walk & Costume Parade begins at 11:30am. Parade starts at 1pm. Enter to have your costume judged or just join the parade. There will be kids' activities before the parade and candy and "Trunk or Treat" during the parade. Rain date is November 5. Anyone who would like to attend the Iowa Tourism Conference can get signed up today for the Early Registration price (you can click the link below to view the agenda). It is being held in Bettendorf at the Isle this year, so it is a great opportunity to learn a lot about making your business or attraction better and not have to pay for travel expenses! Some of the Tourism Board is planning to attend: Cindy Bruhn, Debbie Mulvania, Carl Boehl, Donna Walley, Emily Gwin, and Bob Schiffke.  ALSO, they are soliciting Silent Auction items for the Conference. Proceeds from the silent auction are used for Iowa tourism educational opportunities. Please let Cindy know by October 1st if you are interested in contributing to a LeClaire basket or have a large item you would like to donate by yourself. She will make sure the items get delivered to the Conference. The Conference attendees will have the opportunity to come to LeClaire to dine at Blue Iguana, Faithful Pilot, and Crane & Pelican (these restaurants were picked by the Conference organizers). Many will stay to shop and enjoy the night life. Please let Cindy Bruhn know ASAP if you intend to stay open until 8pm that evening; your business will be on a list and given to the Conference attendees so they know they can come visit you until 8pm on Oct. 19. It would be great to have all three blocks from Ewing to Davenport Streets open and welcoming our visitors. We can also let others outside of the Conference know that stores and attractions will be open that evening. The Annual Witches Walk (costume contest, parade) is looking for more volunteers!  The event this year will be Saturday October 29th. Opening for Retail Representative on the LeClaire Tourism Board. If you are a full-time manager or owner of a LeClaire retail business and are interested in representing all LeClaire retail businesses, please contact City Hall or info@visitleclaire.com for an application and return it by 8:30am on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016. The Tourism Board also requires that your business be a member of the LeClaire Marketing Alliance (LMA). You need to be able to attend monthly meetings that are held at City Hall on the first Monday of the month at 8:30am and uphold LeClaire Tourism’s mission statement: “The purpose of the LeClaire Office of Tourism is to bring visitors and tourism dollars into historic LeClaire while working cooperatively with our businesses, events, and attractions."

Eating at church, at the “Milestones Café” provides a social opportunity, a nutritious meal at an affordable price, a good reason to get out of the house and a break from cooking!
