CITY OF LECLAIRE VISIONING MEETING

The City of LeClaire will be holding a town visioning meeting, on January 28, 2016, at Cody Elementary School, 2100 Territorial Road, from 6:30PM-8:30PM.  The purpose of the meeting is to receive comments and suggestions on future growth and development for LeClaire.  Comments will provide a basis for a community vision, refining goals, and shaping decisions on future land use within and surrounding LeClaire.  The more attendees we have at this meeting, the larger the informational input we receive to help shape future growth and development in LeClaire for the City of LeClaire’s Comprehensive Land-Use Plan update.  We hope to see you there.  For more information please contact City Hall at (563) 289-4242.

January 17th – LeClaire Civic Center – Bald Eagle Photo Presentation by local wildlife photographer Burt Gearhart 2pm. Burt will give an all-ages slide presentation and lecture that will reveal many interesting discoveries about Bald Eagles and their everyday lives in Iowa. See eagles diving for fish, eating while flying, flying with icicles on their toes and much more. Learn to distinguish between immature and mature eagles, what they eat, and why they winter in the area. Attendees will learn about this incredible wildlife opportunity to view and photograph the annual winter gathering of Bald Eagles along the Mississippi River north and south of LeClaire. At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees may join Burt at Lock & Dam 14 to view and photograph the Eagles of LeClaire. Burt’s prints that celebrate Bald Eagles, the Mississippi River, and the historic beauty of LeClaire will also be on display. This program is free and open to the public.

January 20th - the City of LeClaire, Iowa will conduct a public meeting at 10:00 o’clock a.m. in the LeClaire City Hall, 325 Wisconsin Street, LeClaire, to present the AFSCME Union’s “Initial” Collective Bargaining Contract Proposal for F.Y. 2016 – 201__?? to the City for their consideration as required by I.C. Section 20.17(3).
