February 23rd - Buffalo Bill's Birthday Party! The Buffalo Bill Museum in LeClaire invites the public to celebrate William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody's birthday from noon - 4 p.m. Born in LeClaire, IA on February 26th, 1846, he was a frontiersman, US Army Scout, and later a celebrity touring throughout the world with his "Wild West Congress." He remains a favorite among generations, world-wide. Free admission, light refreshments, children's activities, and a visit from "Buffalo Bill" himself! No RSVP required!

March 3rd - Penny Molumby, Style with PM Interiors, will be on Paula Sands Live! 3pm. During her segment, she will be talking about her March 8th shade repair class. She will also be demonstrating how viewers can recycle broken shade material and create exciting Spring Decor.

 

March 7th - Buffalo BIll Museum Grand Opening & Ribbon-Cutting 5 p.m. Come celebrate the museum's expanded facility during an Open House (4-7pm) and the LeClaire Chamber of Commerce's Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at 5pm.  It will be a great start of "First Friday" in LeClaire!

March 8th - Style with PM Interiors - Hunter Douglas Honeycomb Cellular Shade Repair Class The class will consist of learning how to remove a shades from the window, disassembling, restringing, and reassembling the cellular shade. Service Hours: Looking for new opportunities to complete your service hour requirements? The library could always use some help! Students are invited to stop by the library as their schedule allows?no advance appointment is required?and we will put them to work!  We try and be as flexible as possible?student volunteers can stay as long or as little as they are able to or comfortable with.

TAG: In March, the library will be starting up our very first Teen Advisory Group (TAG)! Join us for our first meeting on March 20th, from 4-5pm to learn how YOU can help the library staff develop services for young adults. By attending you can earn credit towards your services hours, and we serve snacks!

Events for Adults:

LeClaire Writer's Group: every 2nd Saturday of each month from 10am-12pm. Join us in the fireplace room for peer review, to discuss writing, and meet other local authors!

Adult Book Discussion Group: For the month of February, we'll be reading The Rosie Project by Graeme Simison. We'll meet on Wednesday, Feb. 26th at 6:30 in the fireplace room to discuss.
