The Davenport Public Library is making a new service available to library users called Book a Librarian.  Book a Librarian allows patrons to schedule one-on-one time with a reference librarian for informal 30-minute consultations.  Suggested topics include:

  • Assistance with researching an assignment topic
  • Learning to use the library catalog or a database
  • Guidance with downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks to your digital device
  • Learn new ways to search for jobs, help with writing a cover letter, and receive assistance in filling out online applications
The Book a Librarian service is currently available at the Fairmount Street Branch Library, located at 3000 N. Fairmount Street.  Appointments can be made between the hours of 9:30-11:30 am on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and between 5:30-7:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday.  For more information, call the library at (563) 326-7832 or visit the library website at www.davenportlibrary.com.

Help Keep the Reader Alive and Free Since '93!

"We're the River Cities' Reader, and we've kept the Quad Cities' only independently owned newspaper alive and free since 1993.

So please help the Reader keep going with your one-time, monthly, or annual support. With your financial support the Reader can continue providing uncensored, non-scripted, and independent journalism alongside the Quad Cities' area's most comprehensive cultural coverage." - Todd McGreevy, Publisher
