Christmas in the Village

36th annual Village of East Davenport Christmas Walk on December 6th-7th.  Wander store to store throughout the Village for holiday cheer and treats.  Listen to live Christmas music, ride on the Village Trolley, check out the new nativity scene with live animals, and heckle Scrooge as he tries to ruin the Christmas Spirit.  New this year in the theater are activities for the whole family--awkward family Christmas photos, children's craft activities and musical entertainment. Theatre - A Christmas Survival Guide

This intimate revue takes a wry and knowing look at a stressful season. Mallards Games this Weekend

On Friday, December 6th at 7:05 p.m., watch the Mallards vs. Brampton Beast. QC Symphony Orchestra Dec. Concert

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra's December Masterworks concert presents a perfect pairing of fresh inspirations with romantic tradition. New to the Quad Cities' stage will be Alasdair Neale, leading the Quad City Symphony Orchestra as they accompany Concertmaster Naha Greenholtz in her performance of Jennifer Higdon's 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning Violin Concerto. Greenholtz will be only the third violinist to perform this work. The concert will be performed on December 7 and 8. Saturday evening's concert will be held at the Adler Theatre in Davenport at 7:30 p.m., and followed on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Centennial Hall in Rock Island. Christmas Tea at Quarters One

Quarters One on Arsenal Island opens for a Christmas Tea & Tour on Sunday, December 8th at 3 p.m. hosted by the Colonel Davenport Historical Foundation. Attendees of the Christmas Tea will enjoy savory and sweet delights, several types of teas, and a guided tour of the historic Quarters One mansion decorated for the holidays. It's a Wonderful Life

The Figge Art Museum in Davenport will be offering Advent Tours on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. beginning this Sunday, December 8th through December 22. Each week a different docent will be giving a themed tour of specially selected artworks from the permanent collection related to Advent. Condensed Account of Christmas TV
In the spirit of giving, ComedySportz veteran, Rick Davis, creates a unique entertainment experience to help raise money for Gilda's Club Quad Cities and QC Paws.  This one-man show on Tuesday, December 10th at 7 p.m. is a salute to the holiday specials many have grown up watching and grown to love.  The performance at The Establishment Theatre in Rock Island is a retelling of the stories, which includes vocal impressions Davis is known for portraying, poetry, interpretive dance, and audience interaction. Lucia Nights

Bishop Hill invites you to join in the Lucia Nights celebration on Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14 from 6-9 p.m.

Attractions include free musical performances in various locations in town. Businesses and museums will have a Lucia girl serving cookies. Around the village, each building will have a single candle in each window, and sidewalks will be illuminated.   On Friday, December 13, the Lucia Nights begin at 6 p.m. with the Lighting of the Park Christmas tree.  On Saturday, December 14, there will be an Old Fashioned Barn Dance at the Colony School beginning at 7 p.m. The Rusty Pickup Band will be performing.  Admission is $5 per person, and beginners are welcome. No partner is necessary. Both Friday and Saturday night, the Bishop Hill Community United Methodist Church will host the annual Soup and Chili Supper beginning at 4:30 p.m. until they run out. www.bishophill.com

The Nutcracker

River Bandits FREE Frost Fest

The QC River Bandits invite fans, families & friends inside for a day of holiday savings and fun activities at the sixth annual indoor Frost Fest, a free open house on Sunday, December 15th from 11 am-2 pm.  The family fun will include games, arts, and crafts, holiday cooking, a movie showing, and a visit from Rascal the River Bandit.  Admission is free to the indoor Frost Fest, although the River Bandits encourage donations, all of which benefit the Bandit Scholars Program, which pays the entire first year of college tuition for two QC area students. www.riverbandits.com
