On Monday, we will commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by participating in service and civic engagement across the country. Time and time again, Dr. King called on Americans to come together and work toward a better tomorrow. In honoring Dr. King, Congress designated the Martin Luther King Day of Service in 1994 to empower individuals and communities to build towards a brighter future with the only federal holiday that is observed as a national day of service.

As we honor Dr. King's legacy, folks across Iowa will unite to volunteer and carry on this important tradition of "a day on."  To find a service opportunity near you, click here and enter your zip code under the "Find a Place to Serve" banner.  I hope to see you out there on Monday!

Sincerely,

Dave Loebsack
