Sal Vulcano at the Adler Theatre -- November 19.

Sunday, November 19, 5 p.m.

Adler Theatre, 136 East Third Street, Davenport IA

A Staten Island, New York native best-known for co-creating and starring in truTV’s long-running hit Impractical Jokers, comedian Sal Vulcano brings his national tour to Davenport's Adler Theatre on November 19, an evening of inspired standup from the longtime Tenderloins comic and popular host of Hey Babe! and Taste Buds podcasts.

The 47-year-old Vulcano attended Staten Island's Monsignor Farrell High School alongside his future Tenderloins and Impractical Jokers castmates James Murray, Brian Quinn, and Joe Gatto, and was a member of his high school's improvisation club. After receiving his undergraduate degree in finance from St. John's University in 1998, Vulcano reunited with Murray and Gatto and began practicing improvisation at Gatto's house, eventually going on to tour as the improv and sketch-comedy troupe the Tenderloins in 1999. The comedians began producing comedy sketches together, posting them on YouTube, MySpace, and Metacafe, and accumulating millions of views online. In 2007, the troupe won the $100,000 grand prize in NBC's It's Your Show competition, and their success led to the creation of Impractical Jokers, a hidden-camera reality show with improvisational elements, Impractical Jokers premiered on truTV on December 15, 2011, and starred Vulcano and his fellow members of the Tenderloins. The show's tenth season premiered this past winter, and the popular series also inspired a full-length theatrical film in 2020.

Beyond his performances with the Jokers, Vulcano has enjoyed a successful career as a podcaster. Recently, Vulcano and fellow comedian and friend Chris Distefano have collaborated on the podcast Hey Babe! The unscripted podcast follows conversations and recollections between Vulcano, Distefano, and Mike "Homeless Pimp" Lavin on a variety of topics. Numerous running gags are associated with the podcast, including "shout-outs" to random celebrities, nations, and social identifiers that come up in conversation. Vulcano can also be seen in a number of TV series and feature films, with his recent credits including roles in Bones, the TV versions of 12 Monkeys and What We Do in the Shadows, and Kevin Smith's Clerks 3. In addition, the comedian is a certified ordained minister, and officiated former Tenderloins member Joe Gatto's wedding.

Sal Vulcano brings his national tour to Davenport on November 19, admission to the 5 p.m. show is $39.75-59.75, and tickets are available by calling (800)745-3000 and visiting AdlerTheatre.com.
