“The Price Is Right Live" at the Adler Theatre -- March 22.

Friday, March 22, 7:30 p.m.

Adler Theatre, 136 East Third Street, Davenport IA

On March 22, the Adler Theatre invites audiences to “Come on down!” to the Davenport venue for the exciting touring event The Price Is Right Live – a stage version of the beloved TV game show with prizes for the competitors potentially including appliances, vacations, and even ... a new car!

A revival by Mark Goodson, and Bill Todman of their 1956–1965 show of the same name, the version of television's The Price Is Right still running today added many distinctive gameplay elements, with the famed interior contests featuring such crowd favorites as Plinko, Cliffhangers, The Big Wheel, and the climactic Showcase Showdown Showcase. The program premiered on September 4, 1972, on CBS, and Bob Barker was the series' longest-running host from its 1972 debut until his retirement in June of 2007, at which point Drew Carey took over. Barker was accompanied by a series of announcers, beginning with Johnny Olson, and followed by Rod Roddy and Rich Fields. In April of 2011, George Gray became the announcer. The Price Is Right has aired more than 9,000 episodes since its debut, making it the longest-running game show in the United States, and the show is one of the longest-running network series in United States television history.

In a 2007 article, TV Guide named it the "greatest game show of all time." and in March of 2022, it was announced that The Price Is Right would be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame. Host Carey and executive producer Evelyn Warfel accepted the award at the Achievement in Broadcasting Awards on the NAB Show main stage in Las Vegas on April 24, 2022. To date, The Price Is Right has taken home a whopping eight Daytime Emmys for Best Game Show, as the long-running series first prevailed in 1988, then won back-to-back in the '90s (1996 and 1997), twice again in the '00s (2004 and 2007), and three times since (2013, 2016 and 2018).

Playing to near-sold-out audiences for more than 20 years now, the touring The Price Is Right Live has entertained millions of guests and given away more than 15 million dollars in cash and prizes, and in order to be to appear on Contestant Row, a registration link will be emailed to ticket holders. You will be asked to provide your legal name, day and month of birth, and a valid email address (used for follow-up, should you be a winner!). At show time, a random drawing will take place, with the randomly-selected names called out throughout the show, and eligible contestants must be present at the time their name is called.

The Price Is Right Live comes to Davenport on March 22, admission to the interactive 7:30 p.m. experience is $32-62, and tickets are available by calling (800)745-3000 and visiting AdlerTheatre.com.
