Currently traveling the country on his wildly popular, 100-city "The Shock Advised Comedy Tour," social-media sensation Blake Lynch – better known by his professional moniker Nurse Blake – brings his singular sensibility to Davenport's Adler Theatre on November 9, the gifted comedian and legitimate health-care professional currently boasting more than a million Instagram followers and New York Times recognition as a "genuine phenomenon" in the field of standup.

From an early age, Lynch knew he wanted to be a nurse, and started working as a patient transporter at 17. He graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Orlando's University of Central Florida, and as an advocate from the beginning, he was also the President of the Florida Nursing Student Association. In 2013, Lynch, who was placed in "gay-conversion therapy" by his parents from ages 15 to 18, started Banned4Life to end the permanent FDA gay blood ban, which ultimately contributed to the lifetime ban being lifted in 2015.

Following nursing school, Lynch worked in level-1 trauma centers around the country in a variety of nursing roles. However, while in nursing school, he also began creating Facebook videos as a way to de-stress and share his nursing experience in a comedic way. His videos consequently went viral and connected nurses and nursing students together from around the world, the result being that Nurse Blake now takes his comedy to stages around the world, bringing nurses together through his humor and inspiration. With more than 120,000 tickets sold for his 2021-22 PTO Comedy Tour, Nurse Blake's lighthearted videos have gained the touring performer in excess of 3.5 million followers on social media and over 300 million views to date.

In an effort to continue to bring the nursing community together, Nurse Blake also founded Nurse Con at Sea, the ultimate nursing conference. Nurse Con at Sea offers CNE courses, events, activities, parties and more, and in its first year, the convention cruise sold out in mere minutes. Nurse Con at Sea is now one of the largest nursing conferences in the country with over 4,000 participants, and additionally, Nurse Blake is the author of the children's book I Want To Be A Nurse When I Grow Up, which is a bestseller on Amazon.

Nurse Blake brings his “The Shock Advised Comedy Tour” to Davenport on November 9, admission to the 8 p.m. show is $42.50-82.50, and tickets are available by calling (800)745-3000 and visiting AdlerTheatre.com.
