The highly anticipated, debut EP from C3 Records' first signee, Welles, is out today. The band is fronted by Jehsea Wells, a prolific songwriter, virtuoso guitarist and monstrous vocalist who recently relocated from Ozark, Akansas to Nashville. Early enthusiasts are comparing the 23-year-old's distinguished growl and striking lyricism to rock legends, while he readily self-describes the sound as "burnt toast."

Welles earned early repute with a resonating set of showcases at SXSW this year. The band will go on to play a selection of tour dates this summer, including Governors Ball and Bonnaroo. Shows are listed below. More to be announced.

"This gritty, mournful rock song targeted my heart's sore spots and then dug underneath them ... his voice is an expert, virtuosic bleat and the guitars cut like dull knives, bludgeoning guilt and shame into a tortured rock anthem" - Uproxx "It's just got so much passion behind it." - Indie Shuffle
"The song moseys along on warped, psychedelic guitars that twang like sitars. Wells’ vocals echo against themselves above the hum, threading through energetic percussion as if he’s trying to tie his memories down to the rhythm." - Consequence of Sound
"a 'new' band who immediately sound like rock legends... a memorable rocker that soars with the energy and haziness of ’70s neo-psychedelia." - The Revue
