Bacon & Beer Festival - This event on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the RiverCenter in Davenport features bacon dishes from 12+ local restaurants and samples of over 100 different local and national craft beers. Last year's event sold out so get your tickets.
Cajun Cook-Off - Celebrate Mardi Gras on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport with local chefs cooking Cajun-inspired dishes for you to sample and vote for your favorite.
Chef Battle Quad Cities - To kick off Quad Cities Restaurant Week, watch local chefs cook live to create the best dish in one hour just like on TV. It all happens Thursday, Feb. 22 from 6-9 p.m. at the Quad-Cities Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf.

Museum Exhibits to See this Winter
Putnam Museum & Science Center - Starting Super Bowl weekend, Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame exhibit opens featuring hundreds of artifacts, many exhibited for the first time, from the Hall of Fame's collection. This interactive, multimedia experience open through early June also includes new material from NFL Films, immersive fan experiences, and a specially-designed "Hometown Tribute" section spotlighting the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
Figge Art Museum - Flower Abstraction, a landmark painting by Georgia O'Keeffe, will be on view from January 23 through June 10. Wynn Bullock: Revelations represents the most comprehensive assessment of photographer Wynn Bullock's (1902-1975) extraordinary career in nearly 40 years and is the first major exhibition of his work to be held in Iowa.
German American Heritage Center - Explore how local German immigrants impacted the economic landscape with their entrepreneurial spirit and how their trades and talents help expand Davenport and the Quad Cities area.
 

Get Your VIV Wristband
V.I.V. stands for Very Important Visitor.  Visitors can get a free V.I.V. Wristband when they are here in the Quad Cities to show at participating businesses to receive a discount or special.  The blue wristbands can be picked up at Visitor Centers and hotels.  You can check www.qcviv.com throughout the year for new and updated specials and discounts.
 
Great College Basketball in March
Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Women's Basketball Tournament returns to the TaxSlayer Center in downtown Moline for its third year on March 8-11.  The MVC celebrates 25 years of women's athletics during the 2018 tournament.  Ten universities compete in the MVC Women's Basketball Tournament and include:  Bradley, Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana State, Loyola, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, and Valparaiso.  Tickets are available at the TaxSlayer Center box office, by phone 800-745-3000, or online at ticketmaster.com or taxslayercenter.com.
