TPQC Requests School Supply Donations for the Less Fortunate

Moline, IL: It is getting to be that time again. The new school year is just around the bend and The Project of the Quad Cities is currently taking donations of school supplies for K-8 students in the QC area.  TPQC believes that Education is one of the most important notions within the community and wants to make sure every child has the chance to flourish.  Unfortunately, there are those who simply can’t afford some of the essentials that the school year demands.  These kids rely on the kindness of strangers in order to make sure their school year isn’t a constant reminder of their struggle.

Donations will be accepted from now until August 25th with a pickup date of August 30th.  All school supplies to be delivered to 2316 5th Ave, Moline, IL 61265. TPQC’s Facebook page has a list of all materials that will be accepted.

Of this upcoming event, Marketing Development Coordinator Mike Bennett said, “TPQC is interested in helping the community in as many ways possible.  We know that children living in poverty need as much help as we can muster. Without the efforts of our agency and those who choose to donate these kids are struggling through their classes with little more than a single #2 pencil.  This School Supply Drive is just one of the numerous ways we plan to help disenfranchised youth throughout the QC area.”

To continue its path of excellence, TPQC plans to execute the following initiatives:

·         Holding relevant fundraisers.

·         Engage and Interact within the community.

·         Establishing an Art for Social Change Initiative.

·         Providing counseling services to the community.

About The Project of the Quad Cities: The Project of the Quad Cities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community based organization that was established in 1986 to provide services to those at risk of contracting, affected by, or living with STI/HIV/AIDS.

TPQC is the only HIV/STI/AIDS service organization in a 60 mile radius of the Quad Cities. We have three offices, two in Moline, IL and one in Davenport, IA and we serve approximately 300 clients, many of which live 200% below the poverty level.

TPQC has evolved much over the last 3 decades.  What started out as an agency founded to battle the AIDS epidemic has become so much more.  TPQC works to help impoverished youth, the LGBTQ community, Immigrant Refugees, and much more.
