Every April, Scott County Health Department celebrates National Public Health Month, by promoting health and its impact on our community. Public health is always in motion, taking steps to encourage healthy habits, prevent disease, and prolong life. In step with the Healthiest Nation 2030 initiative, public health is working to create the healthiest nation in one generation.

There are many ways public health works to keep our community healthy. Public health steps with community partners to provide care, resources, and support to our families and neighbors. Public health takes steps toward providing education, awareness, and prevention at schools, clinics, and events within our community. Be on the lookout for footprints made by the Scott County Health Department team, and leave your footprint by “liking” us on Facebook and following us on Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Your health, Our priority. One step at a time.

Help Keep the Reader Alive and Free Since '93!

"We're the River Cities' Reader, and we've kept the Quad Cities' only independently owned newspaper alive and free since 1993.

So please help the Reader keep going with your one-time, monthly, or annual support. With your financial support the Reader can continue providing uncensored, non-scripted, and independent journalism alongside the Quad Cities' area's most comprehensive cultural coverage." - Todd McGreevy, Publisher
