MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 4, 2023) — The Crepe Corner is now open at 1606 5th Avenue, Moline, Illinois.

Although this is a new Quad City dining experience, it is the creation of two experienced restauranteurs — Tony and Christy Pham, co-owners of Le Mekong Viet Cuisine Restaurant in downtown Moline.

“In Viet Nam, people eat crepes all the time,” said Tony. “So, we eat crêpes all the time and we have been thinking about opening a crêperie for many years. I told my wife, ‘This is our passion, so why don’t we just do it?!’”

To make Crepe Corner a reality, the Phams remodeled unused space at Le Mekong and built a new kitchen for the creperie. The portion of Le Mekong dedicated to The Crepe Corner can accommodate about fifty customers.

Pham says a crêpe is “a little lighter than a pancake”, and he describes their fare as “more like a French crêpe.”

Le Mekong will still be serving their Viet Cuisine, but the Crepe Corner menu features sweet crepes and savory crepes and galetes. Choices for sweet crepes include bananas, strawberries, peach jam, honey, and chocolate, and savory crêpes and galetes feature a variety of meats, cheeses, and vegetables, along with eggs, sauces, and other toppings. Crepe corner also offers gluten-free options.

Crepe Corner is open 8AM-1PM Fridays and Saturdays and 8AM-1:30PM Sundays. For more information, call (309) 797-8660.
