Savanna – State Representative Tony McCombie is partnering with the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce to host a FREE community shred event on Saturday July 22, from 9 a.m. to noon at 603 W. 10th Street in the City of Rock Falls parking lot. “The ‘Shred Event’ is a great way for people to destroy old documents containing personal information in order to keep their identities safe,” said Rep. McCombie. “Thank you to the Rock Falls Chamber and Mayor Wescott for partnering with us. Thank you to AT&T for providing the shred truck.” Two containers of shreddable documents will be accepted from each vehicle. Residents simply need to drive up and let the volunteers unload the documents that will be fed into a large document shredding truck. No electronics will be accepted for recycling or disposal. Please remove binder clips from items to be shredded. Parking is available for those who want to watch their documents being shredded. More information can be found at www.repmccombie.com or by calling Rep. McCombie’s district office at (815) 632-7384.
