BETTENDORF, IOWA (January 10, 2024) — The Quad Cities Chamber is pleased to see Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’ continued commitment to creating a pro-growth, pro-business environment. Our economy is growing and Iowa is regularly rated as a high-opportunity state.

The Chamber applauds the philosophy behind the Governor’s proposal to more swiftly implement the tax cuts that were approved in 2022. We look forward to analyzing the legislative text of this proposal. We need to remove Iowa from the list of states with the highest corporate-tax rates.

Government red tape stands in the way of business growth. The Governor’s realignment plan presents an opportunity to cut through the red tape and reduce the lag-time on licensure and project approval.

Our business community is primed for growth and excited to work with the Governor, the House, and the Senate to promote pro-growth policy for Iowans.
