MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (October 27, 2023) — On November 11, the Monmouth College and Knox College football teams will compete 134th time in the legendary Turkey Bowl. On October 26, the two colleges went head-to-head to donate blood — and the big winner were area hospitals.

A total of 86 units of blood were donated by members of the Monmouth and Knox communities. Monmouth donated 48 units, including three double red-cell donations, compared to Knox's 38 units.
The blood drive — administered by ImpactLife of Davenport, Iowa — was sponsored at Monmouth by the College's Pre-Health Society. The blood will be used by area hospitals.
