River Bandits face off with South Bend Cubs in final round of Ballpark Digest fan-vote contest
DAVENPORT, Iowa – Looking for a second title in three years, the Quad Cities River Bandits and Modern Woodmen Park are in the finals of Ballpark Digest’s “Best of the Ballparks” competition for the Class-A level. The field of 30 Class-A teams has been narrowed down to two, with Quad Cities facing off against fellow Midwest League club the South Bend Cubs. Voting is open now through Monday, June 19, at 11:00 a.m. CT on ballparkdigest.com.
Modern Woodmen Park, winners of the 2015 “Best of the Ballparks” competition, has added more than $1.5 million in amusements and upgrades for the 2017 season. Four-time winners of the “Best Ballpark Improvement” award from Ballpark Digest, the Bandits have improved their ballpark with an expanded box office and protective netting, new LED lights, plus the addition of thrilling new rides such as the “WindUp” and “Double Play” with the only double-decker carousel between Chicago and Kansas City to follow. Modern Woodmen Park has once again set the bar for ballpark upgrades in 2017.
“We in the Quad Cities know we have the best ballpark in America, but it’s always nice for our region to get this kind of national recognition,” said River Bandits owner Dave Heller. “We’re so thankful for the tremendous support we’ve already received from our great fans and community to get to this point, but now we need everyone’s help for one more round to show the rest of the baseball world what we already know; America’s best ballpark is right here in the Quad Cities."
Voting can be done once per day by every browser on every device, meaning Chrome and Safari can both be used to cast a vote from the same device each day and every phone, tablet, computer or other device can vote from each browser daily. Fans are encouraged to vote and share the link as often as possible over the next four days to help the final push to being named the Best of the Ballparks.
