CANTON, MO (03/17/2017)-- Megan Erickson, a Criminal Justice major from Port Byron, IL (61275), was among 65 new members inducted into Phi Eta Sigma. Culver-Stockton's chapter held the induction ceremony March 13, 2017 to formally welcome the new members.

The national college honor society is for freshmen who earned at least a 3.5 grade point average during their first year in college. Phi Eta Sigma was founded in 1923 at the University of illinois; currently there are over 300 chapters across the United States and nearly 700,000 members. Its goal is to encourage and reward high scholastic attainment among freshman in institutions of higher learning.

Culver-Stockton College, located in Canton, Mo., is a four-year residential institution in affiliation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). C-SC specializes in experiential education and is one of only two colleges in the nation to offer the 12/3 semester calendar, where the typical 15 week semester is divided into two terms, a 12-week term and a 3-week term.

The C-SC Wildcats are members of the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
