ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 1, 2020) — Augustana College will be conducting media tours near 3601 7th Avenue, where the Peter J Lindberg MD Center for Health and Human Performance is taking shape.
A casual briefing will begin at 1PM. Media tours of the site will start at 1.15PM and 1.45PM. Please let us know if you'd like your own tour, and we'll block one of these times for you.
The Lindberg Center is part of the college's $20-million investment in health and wellness initiatives this year. The project, on track to be completed in the spring of 2021, will be home to two academic programs — public health and kinesiology — as well as the natatorium for the swimming, diving, and new men's and women's water-polo programs.
In a time when expenses are at the forefront of higher education institutions across the country, we'll disclose details of the funding for this multi-million dollar investment in the Quad-Cities community. In addition, we'll unveil the college's plans to honor the first African-American student at Augustana to earn recognition as an Academic All-American.
