BETTENDORF, IOWA (June 8, 2021) — Rivermont Collegiate is known for attracting academically-driven students. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t have some star athletes in our midst. Rivermont students can participate in varsity athletics (tennis, golf, soccer, swimming, etc) through a co-op program with Bettendorf schools.

During the 2020/21 school year Rivermont Sophomore, Andrea Porubcin and her Bulldog-doubles partner won the Class 2A regional title, advancing them to the state meet, where they placed 7th. Junior Shannyn Vogler took the lead and the win in a sudden-death play-off in the MAC championship. Vogler went on to become the 2021 Golf Individual State Champion. Her team placed 3rd.

“Our goal for the athletics program at Rivermont is to develop skills in our student athletes’ individual and team sport choices while balancing very rigorous academics,” says Michelle Bibens, Rivermont Athletic Director. “We’re supportive of the Strong Mind, Strong Body mentality, and love when students take the opportunity to cultivate talents in sports, win or lose. But it’s always rewarding when we have Rivermont students reach the highest levels in the state!”

Rivermont Collegiate offers cross country, track-and-field, volleyball, basketball, cheer, and rowing. Even with the pandemic cutting the season short, our Middle School boys and girls track-and-field teams were the 2021 Quad City 8 Conference Champs, winning by over 100 points.

Rivermont Collegiate is a PK-12th private, independent, non-sectarian, college preparatory-school located in Bettendorf, Iowa. Rivermont is the top school on the Iowa AP Index and ranked among the top 10% Best College Prep Private High Schools in America on Niche.com.
