DAVENPORT, IA – June 2017 –Gilda’s Club is excited to offer a series of introductory workshop classes focusing on yoga, meditation and Tai Chi for kids and teens impacted by cancer. The series, sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Geneseo, will be offered on select Mondays this summer from 3:30 – 5:00 PM at Gilda’s Club (1234 East River Drive, Davenport).
Kids and teens who participate will learn ways to incorporate flexibility, lower stress and being present in the moment. Each class will end with a hands-on healthy snack demonstration.
Melissa Wright, RYT-200, Yoga 4 Cancer Certified, will help participants find their balance through yoga on Mondays June 12th and 26th. Wright is the Program Director at Gilda’s Club. Angela Swanson of Cloud Nine Meditation will help participants find their calm through meditation on Mondays July 17th and 24th. Caleen Pagel, a Muscatine physical therapist, will help participants find their flow through Tai Chi on Mondays August 7th and 14th.
