JOHNSTON, IOWA (April 8, 2021) — Join Iowa PBS virtually on Saturday, May 1 at 10 a.m. for a preview of the newest puppet series coming to PBS KIDS, Donkey Hodie. Inspired by Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, Donkey Hodie and her pals will empower kids to dream big, work hard and never give up.

During the virtual event, families will watch two episodes of the program followed by an easy at-home activity led by an Iowa PBS educator. The first 100 registrants will also receive an Iowa PBS KIDS event kit in the mail. For more information and to register for free tickets, please visit iowapbs.org/events.

Donkey Hodie premieres on statewide Iowa PBS on May 3 at 9AM with two back-to-back episodes. The series will air on Iowa PBS's primary channel weekdays at 9AM and 12:30PM and on Iowa PBS KIDS .2 weekdays at 3PM and weekends at 8AM.

About the program:

Donkey Hodie follows the title character in adventures alongside her friends Purple Panda, Duck Duck, Bob Dog, and her Grampy Hodie, the founder of Someplace Else and the original Fred Rogers character in Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. The show features new original music along with reimagined versions of Fred's iconic songs to reinforce and underscore each story's positive message.
