DES MOINES, IOWA (January 12, 2024) — The Department of Management Division of Information Technology, formerly the Office of the Chief Information Officer, is requesting public comment on the State of Iowa Digital Equity Plan. The plan encompasses Iowa’s proposed implementation of digital equity funding made possible through the Investment Infrastructure and Jobs Act (IIJA) Digital Equity Act. The State of Iowa Digital Equity Plan outlines the results of extensive research and outreach efforts to set baseline conditions and goals for addressing digital equity opportunities in Iowa. Funding used to develop the plan is administered by the National Telecommunications and Infrastructure Administration (NTIA).

Public comments may be submitted by going to comment.iowa.gov. The public comment link may also be accessed by going to ocio.iowa.gov/broadband/digital-equity. The deadline to submit comments is 5PM, Friday, February 2, 2024. Public comments will be made available pursuant to Iowa Code section 22.7 on March 29, 2024. Any questions or concerns regarding the Digital Equity Plan may be directed to broadband@iowa.gov.
