DES MOINES, IOWA (February 22, 2024) — The Iowa Business Council (IBC) will reveal its annual research report, Iowa’s Competitive Dashboard, during a virtual press conference at 11:30AM, Wednesday, February 28. The organization’s signature report measures how Iowa competes nationally.

IBC Chair and Raytheon President Phil Jasper will join IBC President Joe Murphy for an overview of the report’s findings and recommendations during the unveiling.

The IBC’s Competitive Dashboard is a unique dataset that serves as a guide to both lawmakers and business leaders in determining policies that will elevate Iowa’s economy. The organization has released this nonpartisan review of the state’s economic climate annually since 2011.

The Dashboard measures Iowa’s progress in five categories: economic growth; workforce and education; governance; health and wellness; and demographics and diversity. Each indicator consists of five metrics that are averaged to determine Iowa’s overall performance in that category: Outperforming, competitive, and underperforming.

Iowa’s Competitive Dashboard will be unveiled virtually at 11:30AM, Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

The event is open to the media and the general public.
