Annual School Carnival featuring the Star Wars replica prop collection of Chris and Steven Bornhoeft

Hampton, IL – April 19, 2017 – Hampton PTA will hold their annual school carnival on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 5:30-8pm at Hampton School located at 206 5th Street, Hampton, IL.

The theme this year is “The Carnival Strikes Back”, based on Star Wars. Chris and Steven Bornhoeft have donated the display of their extensive Star Wars replica prop collection and their time to talk to carnival attendees about the collection. This will be their largest display to date. Professional photographer Breanne Bowers of B’s Photography will be on hand taking photos of attendees with the collection.

There will also be all new games to go along with the theme, designed and built by local interior designer and woodworking hobbyist team, Leesa and Justin Schroeder. Chef Rich Smice will be serving chicken tenders, chicken wings (BBQ and hot), and hot dogs in the “Cantina”. There will be a silent auction/raffle featuring items such as Chicago White Sox tickets, St. Louis Cardinals tickets, CrossFit Port Byron membership, Legos, an American Girl doll, Medieval Times tickets, Disney World Park Hopper passes, rounds of golf at local golf courses, hotel stay packages, Comedy Sportz tickets, and so much more!

Hampton PTA supports the students, teachers and staff at Hampton school as well as our local community. We are able to provide the “extras”, such as a new wheelchair for the school nurse, new SmartBoard projectors, and news and science readers for our classes. We also sponsored a school-wide field trip on the Celebration Belle to learn about the Mississippi River and Cultural Arts Day to bring new experiences to our students. We contribute money and volunteer time to the Hampton Police Department’s Blue and Red Christmas, which takes qualifying children Christmas shopping with a police officer or fireman to provide gifts for their families. We also support the Mitten Tree at Hampton Grace United Methodist Church, which provides warm gloves, hats and socks for children at the school that need them during the winter. All money raised from this event supports these projects and more for our school and community.

Game play punch cards, all-you-can-play wristbands, and photo passes are available at the door. Food served starting at 5:30pm. Silent Auction/Raffles end approximately 20 minutes prior to the end of the event.
