DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 1, 2024) — Gilda’s Club Quad Cities, a non-profit offering no-cost cancer support, is delighted to announce its selection as the charity recipient of a heartfelt fundraising initiative hosted by Johnstone Supply, a wholesale HVACR supplier with locations throughout the Midwest region. Each year, during the month of December, Johnstone Supply encourages its stores to contribute 10% of sales to a chosen non-profit.
Gilda's Club, a non-profit offering no-cost cancer support, was pleasantly surprised by Johnstone's initiative to support their cause. Lexi Bull, Development and Event Manager of Gilda's Club, shared her experience, saying, "I received a call from Billy Martin, the Davenport Manager, asking to stop by to present us with a check. We had no idea that they were making the efforts to fundraise in December. We were so thankful when we received the news that we were the selected charity, as every dollar donated makes a such meaningful difference.”
Billy Martin, the Manager of Davenport Johnstone Supply, expressed, "Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our cherished customer base for making this fundraiser a reality. This donation is a testament to the generosity of our clients, as their unwavering support and loyalty have empowered us to contribute to numerous exceptional nonprofits within our community. Without their patronage, none of this would be achievable."
The incredibly generous contribution of $8,875 from Johnstone Supply, made possible by the collective support of their valued clients, will support Gilda's Club's Quad Cities ongoing efforts to offer no-cost support to individuals and their loved ones whilst navigating a cancer diagnosis, survivorship, or bereavement.
Joy Bush, Executive Director, emphasized the significance of community support, stating, "We are humbled by the generosity of our community partners. Without the support of community partners such as Johnstone, the services we offer at no-cost would not be possible."
